All Time High

Alright so it's summer and I'm off duty but I can't help it! The second I came across this band I knew they were going places. I had to jump at the oppurtunity at an interview and stay one step ahead of the music tycoons. This band is definetly going places. I definetly mean every word when I say their music is astonishingly catchy and I feel totally at a loss of words to describe how surprised I am at not seeing their name plastered all over the pop-punk hits charts. So well anyway I had a little chat with Steven Foster, the bassist, so check it out! [just scroll down lolll]

What genre of music do you consider your work to be and who are your major influences?

We are Pop-punk/ Powerpop. Our major influences are Anberlin, City Sleeps, Mayday Parade, Dead and Devine



How long have you all known each other? How did you meet?

Krys, Brendan and I went to School together, K-12. Ashton, we met in highschool, and Mike we met from playing shows together back when we were in other local acts.

When did you form your band? What inspired you to make music together?

Crisis Jane officially formed January 2009. Every day life, our passion for music, love for preforming, and drive for sucess inspires us to make music.



Where have you performed? What are your favorite and least favorite venues?

We have toured all over Canada. I personally love L'inco in Montreal, The WECC in Winnipeg, the Vineyard in Vancouver, and The Pavalion in Halifax. I Dislike alot of venues in the Canadian prairies, just for sound and location reasons.


What are your all time favorite songs? Who are your favorite artists?
I honestly can't name favourite songs. Too many of them.
Artists for me personally are Blink 182, Anberlin, City Sleeps, Afi, Pink Floyd, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and well, the list goes and goes haha,


What is your favorite of all your songs?
My personal Favourite is "Not Listening." It will be released soon.



What inspires your lyrics?
Definitely not my question to answer haha


Could you briefly describe the process of making and promoting an album?
Breifly, absolutely not haha. But I can tell you that you pour your life, and soul into your art. Countless hours writing, producing, recording, re-producing, mastering, designing, scheming, and promoting yourself goes into every album.


What has been your biggest challenge as a band? Have you been able to overcome that challenge?
2 Big things:

1. Promoting ourselves to the best of our ability. We feel we do this very well with the materials we have, and say we are tackling this challenge.
2. Financials. Always being able to afford everything. We kinda believe in "go big or go home." This Challange we feel we aren't tackling as well as we could.

What’s the ultimate goal/ direction for your band?

A career writing and recoding music.


What advice do you have for people who want to form their own bands?
Never give up, and give it everything you have. And when have gave it everything you have, give it more.


What's the most bizarre thing to happen while you were onstage?
First show ever, first song ever, we blew the power, all amps went out. So we sung the song acapella, and the entire crowd, without hearing the song, caught the jist and started singing along.


What’s your favorite and least favorite part about touring?
My favourite part is being able to play music every night and meet the amazing people we get to meet.
My least favourite part is poor eating habits, mixed with poor sleeping habits.


Does touring and the other aspects of your professional life affect your private life?
It definitely affects my personal life, but I honestly welcome it. It (music)is what I love to do, and if thats what comes with it, its totally worth it in my opinion.
